Pregnant moms and new babies were the special guests at a recent event co-ordinated by USO Camp Pendleton.
More than 100 people attended the Special Delivery event, which featured Heidi Murkoff, author of the best-selling What to Expect When You’re Expecting.
USO Camp Pendleton center manager Ann Jarvis said the day was very successful.
“Heidi comes with her husband and they do a Q&A and they hug every mom and hold every baby - that was her number one rule - you can’t leave without a hug,” she said.
“She’s super sweet and all the moms love her.”
The event was sponsored by Johnson & Johnson and Target, who donated baby gift bags and gift cards, and was held at the Arrowood Golf Course. Ohana Cupcakes also attended and put on a cupcake display.
USO Camp Pendleton volunteer Kristina Kavanaugh said making new friends was the aim of the day.
“It was a really positive group and all the women were connecting which was nice because a lot of them came alone and didn’t know anybody,” she said.
