Providing support on two fronts was the job of USO Camp Pendleton during the base’s Fourth of July celebrations this year.
Center manager Ann Jarvis said staff and volunteers worked over two days to help out with the event.
“Our mobile van was serving the 200 PMO working at the event as well as the Marines that were volunteering,” she said.
“We did breakfast and lunch on July 4 and then we went back on July 5 for the clean up and served breakfast.”
USO Camp Pendleton also had a booth in the kids zone at Del Mar Beach, giving away a range of USO-branded items and running games and competitions.
“It was really great because we got to talk to a lot of families throughout the day and get them excited about the USO coming to Camp Pendleton, “ Ann said.
