Friday the 13th is not always morale boosting but for a Camp Pendleton ammo company and USO Camp Pendleton that wasn’t the case.
Staff and volunteers from USO Camp Pendleton joined with Marines from Ammunitions Company, 1st Supply Battalion to mark Ammo Tech Day.
Center manager Ann Jarvis said the day commemorates a deadly incident in an ammo factory.
“Now it is just a morale lifting day for the ammo tech guys - they were so grateful we could attend and they gave us a really cool plaque,” she said.
“They work a lot of long hours, have a huge demand and are very busy so it was nice for us to be able to go out there and thank them for their service,”
USO Camp Pendleton took along their new mobile unit and provided some outdoor games and chips and drinks.
